【Blockchain Rhythm】AirSwap founder Michael Oved recently announced a major development—DeFi liquidity layer Harbor completed a $4.2 million seed round. This funding round was in preparation since spring and was finalized only in summer, led by Susquehanna Crypto and Triton Capital.
Speaking of Triton Capital, this investor has quite a background. It was actually restructured from Kraken Ventures, the venture capital arm of Kraken, a leading US cryptocurrency exchange. Besides these two main investors, several market makers participated in this round—Selini, Auros, Hermeneutic, and Kronos Research. Additionally, several well-known crypto family offices and top-tier angel investors also invested.
Harbor is now officially live. What exactly is it? Simply put, it is a chain-agnostic DeFi liquidity layer, designed from the start for professional liquidity providers. Its core selling points are clear: narrower spreads, more predictable trading experience, and performance data that is authentic and verifiable. These are the top concerns for institutional players.
In terms of product planning, Harbor will expand around Bitcoin and stablecoins to develop more DeFi primitives, with the ultimate goal of covering all gradually on-chain global assets. This ambition is significant, but judging from the funding lineup and product design, the team is genuinely committed to building a usable infrastructure.
