Hong Kong Virtual Money Exchange Store Robbery: Japanese Employee Loses 1 Billion Yen, Police Have Arrested 15 People

[Chain News] Last week, an astonishing virtual money trading robbery occurred in Hong Kong. Two employees from a Japanese company planned to exchange 1 billion yen (approximately 50 million HKD) into virtual money and HKD at a digital asset exchange store in Sheung Wan, but were robbed at knife point during the transaction.

The Hong Kong police immediately launched an investigation, and 15 suspects have been arrested, among which 7 have been formally charged with conspiracy to commit robbery. The police are making every effort to trace the whereabouts of the stolen funds, and the case is still under deep investigation, with the possibility of more arrests not being ruled out. This case also serves as a reminder for Web3 users to enhance their security awareness during large transactions.

50 million in cash and they dare to be so bold, the security here in Hong Kong is a bit lax --- Waiting for follow-up, feels like some people still can't escape --- This is why I never do offline transactions, it's too dangerous --- 15 people? Feels organized, there must be someone behind it --- The Japanese are too fierce, bringing cash directly to exchange for coins, aren't they afraid of being targeted? --- The police are efficient, they've caught so many people so quickly --- Once again, it's Hong Kong, stories in the crypto circle always play out here --- 4 boxes with 50 million, just thinking about it makes me uneasy, what were they thinking? --- Conspiracy to rob, this indicates it was planned long ago, an insider? --- This lesson means that for large transactions in the future, one has to go through banks or proper channels.

1 billion yen just disappeared like that, it's really outrageous, who wouldn't feel heartbroken --- 4 travel suitcases filled with cash to trade? This operation is indeed a bit reckless, no wonder they were targeted --- 15 people just for this one deal, not much to split, it's a thankless task --- This Hong Kong case feels like a scene from a gangster movie, armed robbery of virtual money trading, so thrilling --- Daring to wander around Central without security for a large transaction? If I were a cop, I'd have to intervene --- Now look, 50 million HKD has evaporated directly, how are those two Japanese guys going to explain this? --- Trading on-chain is so much safer, why insist on doing it with cash offline, they deserve to be robbed --- The police caught all 15 of them? The efficiency is decent, but that money probably won't come back --- In the future, who would dare to take so much cash to the exchange? This lesson is too profound --- By the way, how is this incident related to Japanese employees, it's not local gangsters.

50 million HKD just disappeared like that, outrageous --- For large transactions, they're still moving boxes to currency exchange shops, this operation is really absurd --- 15 people arrested, it seems the organization is not small --- Why still cash exchange? Isn't it better to transfer on-chain directly? --- The public security in Hong Kong really needs some reflection --- The Japanese staff is a bit too naive this time, obviously a target --- The police are quick, but the money is probably not recoverable --- This is why I never engage in large cash transactions --- 1 billion JPY, that must be a huge internal transaction to require cash on-site --- Another Web3 security incident, should we get insurance?

50 million cash directly divided into boxes... How careless could this be? --- Hong Kong's move is really ruthless, 15 people acted together, this must be a huge operation. --- Using cash to exchange for Virtual Money so high-profile, I have to say it's a bit outrageous. --- The police are efficient, directly holding down 15 people, just afraid they won't be able to recover afterwards. --- For large transactions, it's better to find legitimate channels, being so blatant is really dangerous. --- Do you even need to bring bodyguards to the exchange shop now? Is web3 trading this deep? --- Conspiring to rob 50 million, these people are serious... The public security in Hong Kong is also starting to loosen up. --- By the way, can those 4 boxes still be found? It feels like this money is hanging in the balance.
