Ethereum's second BPO hard fork: Blob limit raised to 21, network scalability further upgraded

Abstract generation in progress

【ChainNews】Ethereum recently made a big move again—during the second BPO hard fork, the blob size limit was raised from the previous restriction to 21. This change may seem simple, but its actual impact is significant. The blob is a key component for optimizing transaction data on Ethereum, and increasing the limit means that a single block can process more data, leading to higher network throughput. For users, the most immediate benefit is lower Gas fees—transactions become cheaper, and network congestion can be alleviated considerably. This is another step in Ethereum’s ongoing efforts to improve its scalability. In today’s landscape where Layer 2 solutions are becoming increasingly mature, enhancing the mainnet’s efficiency is equally crucial. Although such technical upgrades may not be as eye-catching as price fluctuations, in the long run, they are the foundation that determines how far the ecosystem can go.

Can gas fees really be reduced? I don't feel much difference... or is it just a drop in the bucket?

Gas fees can be reduced, this is the real deal. Bragging is not as good as being practical.

bruh 21 blobs sounds good on paper but lemme tell you... back in my mining days we thought more throughput = more profit. spoiler alert: it didn't work that way. tho ngl if gas actually drops i'm not complaining, my defi positions are bleeding

Can gas fees really come down? It feels like every time they say so, but my wallet is still crying.

Is the gas fee really going to decrease? Why do I still feel it's just as expensive? When will I actually feel it being cheaper?

Another round of technical upgrades, can the Gas fees be lowered?

Hi, the increase in blob limit from 21 is indeed good news. As long as gas fees can be reduced, it's mainly about being able to speak with money.

Can gas fees really be reduced? I feel like they're still the same. Maybe I need to wait until the mainnet is fully operational to really notice the difference.

Coming back to gas fees again? How low can the transaction fees be with 21 blobs? Looking forward to seeing the actual data.
