Exciting news comes from the field of nuclear fusion. Energy Singularity recently announced that their operated global first all-high-temperature superconducting tokamak device, Honghuang 70, successfully maintained a 120-second steady-state long-pulse plasma operation during the 5319th experiment.

What does this achievement mean? In simple terms, it means that this device can now reliably perform long-pulse operations. From a technical perspective, it validates the feasibility of high-temperature superconducting tokamaks in engineering applications and operational stability. More importantly—this is the first time in the world that a nuclear fusion device independently developed and built by a commercial company has reached this level. Moving from laboratory to commercialization is a significant leap.

Achieving plasma current long-pulse operation at the hundred-second level is an important milestone in the nuclear fusion industry. It indicates that commercial nuclear fusion is no longer just theoretical or small-scale experimental; real engineering breakthroughs are happening.

By the way, the 2026 Nuclear Fusion Energy Technology and Industry Conference will be held in Hefei, Anhui, from January 16 to 17. It is expected that discussions on this topic will be even more lively then.

120 seconds? This is just the beginning, and there's still a long way to go before true commercialization.

120 seconds? Now that's a real commercial-grade breakthrough, not just numbers in a paper.
