After spending some time deepening my understanding of Miden, I suddenly realized a very practical problem — we use blockchain every day, but why does it always feel like trading isn’t truly autonomous?

Scalability solutions like Rollup seem clever, and their architecture is complex, but the core pain point is right there: the Sequencer holds the power to order transactions. In other words, when your transaction is packaged, whether it is prioritized, or even if it gets front-run — these decisions are not truly in the hands of users.

It’s like placing an order on an exchange, but when the order is filled or if it gets filled at all depends on the Sequencer’s mood. Between the ideals of decentralization and actual operation, there’s an invisible gap. Projects like Miden are thinking about how to break this Sequencer monopoly — allowing users to truly control their transactions instead of passively waiting for decisions from centralized entities.

This thing called sequencer is really secretly centralized. We thought we were using Web3.

Really, the Sequencer is just a new kind of intermediary disguised as decentralization... after all our efforts, we're still working for a certain node. Isn't this just a different coat of the same old soup?

After all this time, I still don't understand. Sequencer is just the new era's intermediary; fundamentally, nothing has changed... Decentralization sounds advanced, but in the end, power is still held by certain nodes. It's really ironic.

Sequencer is really disgusting, feels like the old trick of centralized control...
