#加密钱包安全风险 After witnessing the $15 billion private key cracking incident, I have to say—this serves as a wake-up call to all coin holders.

The vulnerability of pseudo-random number generators like Mersenne Twister essentially means that wallet developers used "faulty coin-flip machines." Between 2019 and 2020, 53,500 Bitcoins were trapped in weak key ranges, and hackers could brute-force their way in. On December 28, 2020, a series of operations wiped out 136,951 BTC within hours, worth $3.7 billion. Ironically, at the time, no one was sure whether it was theft or an active transfer by the mining pool, missing the best early warning window.

What does this teach me? Risk management has never been a trivial matter. When copying trades, I often say to allocate positions based on risk appetite; the same logic applies to asset custody—don't put all your eggs in one basket, and don't trust wallets from unknown sources or with unclear code audits. Hardware wallets, reputable custody services, multi-signature setups—these are not superfluous.

Interestingly, it wasn't until 2024 that the U.S. Department of Justice fully clarified the matter. Blockchain is transparent by nature, but on-chain data takes time to tell the full story. This also reminds us that the first principle of coin security is proactive action—regularly audit your wallet sources, check the generation algorithms, and migrate assets when necessary.

"Not your Wallet, Not Your Money" now comes with a prerequisite: your wallet itself must be secure.
