#美国非农就业数据未达市场预期 Why do crypto investors always lose money? It all boils down to these two pitfalls

First — the trap of frequent trading. Many people get caught up in short-term madness after entering the market, watching charts daily, entering and exiting trades frequently, truly thinking they are traders. But what’s the result? Transaction fees eat up all profits, and sometimes even wipe out the principal. Mainstream coins like $BTC, $ETH, $SOL fluctuate daily, making it easy to want to buy the dip or chase highs. But reality is cruel — 99% of those trying to get rich quick through short-term trading end up as ATM machines for the exchanges. The real way to make big money is simple: identify the trend accurately and hold onto it. This requires stronger mental resilience and a deeper understanding of the market.

Second — the inability to cut losses with the stop-loss knife. Watching your account turn red, most people’s first reaction is "Hold on, it will come back." They endure once, twice, even nine times, and turn things around. But as soon as there’s that one time they can’t hold, their financial life is completely wiped out. This isn’t courage — it’s gambling psychology. Stop-loss is like insurance; although it looks like a "loss," it actually protects you from experiencing a fatal loss. In the volatile crypto market, stop-loss isn’t optional — it’s mandatory.

These two pitfalls, falling into either one is painful enough. To survive long-term, you must understand how to go with the trend and also know when to cut losses in time.

Well said, but you know what? The real thing that causes people to lose money is actually mindset. I've seen too many people die because they are unwilling to cut losses.

Frequent trading is really the standard way to cut leeks; transaction fees will quickly eat you up completely. Set your stop-loss and don't look back—it's that simple. Only when you get margin called do you realize your regret. Basically, it's a mindset issue. Greed and overconfidence are the biggest killers in the crypto world. Every time I see my account turn red, I want to go all-in to turn things around. What's the point of playing with this mindset? Holding steady is true skill. I've completely given up on short-term trading.

Frequent trading is really the fastest way to cut leeks. I've seen too many people make over ten trades a day and end up losing everything, even their underwear. That's right, mindset is really a hundred times more important than skills, but most people simply can't do it. I’ve suffered big losses to understand that stop-loss is crucial. Holding on until liquidation and then regretting it is too late. Everyone needs to change their mindset about getting rich quickly. In the crypto world, there are no miracles, only a lot of leeks. When the market is not good, it’s the biggest test of human nature. Whoever can hold on will be the winner.

The routine of frequent trading has long been seen through; transaction fees are the real killer, and no one can make money just by daily swings.

That's so true, I am that 99% haha, the exchange got the trading fees for free. Frequent trading is really poison; not holding is the real killer. I've fallen into both of these traps before. Now, it's just two words—lie flat. Set your stop-loss and go to sleep; it's much better than constantly watching the market with a stressed mindset.
