Yesterday, I came across an annual survey report on the wealthy population. The data was a bit eye-opening but also very real.
Here are some key findings:
First is age. The surveyed individuals with assets in the tens of millions typically take until around 43 years old to accumulate close to 9 million yuan in assets. Sounds long, right? But this is the reality.
Next is time cost. Going from a "million-dollar net worth" to a "tens of millions" level, most people took nearly 10 years. There’s no instant success; it’s built year by year.
Looking at the wealth threshold, the report provides a clear figure—about 7 million yuan in disposable liquid assets are needed to be considered truly middle class. This standard is quite sobering in many places.
One of the most interesting data points is: 34% of the millionaires explicitly state that they allocate a significant portion of their assets to high-yield alternative investments, with cryptocurrencies prominently listed. In other words, digital assets are no longer a novelty in the asset allocation of high-net-worth individuals.
The underlying logic is quite clear:
Don’t be brainwashed by extreme cases of "overnight success." The vast majority of wealth is accumulated gradually—over long cycles, slow to see results, but steady.
The most valuable thing is never speed, but patience. Impatience is the least valuable trait when it comes to wealth.
