Ethereum's volatility is indeed greater than that of Bitcoin. Not long ago, investors were quite patient with ETH, but by Thursday, the situation took a sharp turn—two major institutional investors, BlackRock and Grayscale, could no longer hold back and jointly increased their selling. The selling pressure suddenly surged, and the market could clearly feel the impact.
At the moment, although ETH has its own movement characteristics, it still cannot escape the shadow of Bitcoin. As long as BTC moves, ETH follows suit, and this correlation is quite tight. The greater BTC's amplitude, the more restless ETH becomes. In other words, to understand how ETH will move next, you first need to see if Bitcoin is giving strength or not.

BlackRock and Grayscale are just like this when they team up; ETH really is Bitcoin's little tail.

When BlackRock and Grayscale make a move, small investors have to tremble—this is the reality.

ngl the institutional dump was inevitable once you map out the incentive structures... blackrock and grayscale basically signaled what the broader stakeholder alignment looks like rn. eth's correlation dependency on btc is arguably the non-trivial externality nobody really wants to discuss

Basically, ETH is just a follower. When big institutions turn around, retail investors have to take the slap. This wave of selling looks fierce, but essentially it's the cycle law at work—once patience runs out, it's time to accept fate.
