Walrus has indeed introduced new ideas within the Sui ecosystem. As a player in the decentralized storage sector, it has some unique advantages in several key areas: the cost control for large file storage is quite restrained, whether it’s videos, AI datasets, or NFT media—heavy assets with significantly reduced cost pressure. More interestingly, the programmable blob design allows smart contracts to directly manipulate data, rather than working through intermediaries.

This architectural design, to some extent, elevates the Web3 data layer from passive storage to active computation. Currently, prices are rebounding, and community enthusiasm is building. From a long-term perspective, in the context of the accelerating AI wave, the demand for efficient, low-cost, programmable data storage will only become more urgent.
