#钱包安全风险 The Mt.Gox incident in 2014, the FTX collapse in 2022, and now the Trust Wallet hacking incident—I've seen too many "accidents" over the years. The biggest loss was $3.5 million, the second-largest was $1.4 million. These two wallets were even dormant for over a year before being attacked, which precisely illustrates the core issue: risk isn't about how active you are, but the fact that your wallet itself is a target.

What alarms me most about this incident isn't the numbers themselves, but the details pointed out by SlowMist—PostHog JS was embedded to collect wallet information, and the patched version surprisingly didn't remove it completely. What does this mean? Many users think that upgrading makes them safe, unaware that they are still being monitored. This is exactly the same as those projects in 2022 that claimed "official verification" but secretly embedded backdoors.

Historically, every wave of wallet security risks follows the same pattern: **Trust is broken when it's already too late**. The reason why those dormant large accounts get hacked is because their security awareness is stuck at a certain point—thinking the old version is enough, or that long-term inactivity means safety.

The lesson is clear now: disconnect from the internet before exporting, transfer funds first and then upgrade, and don't trust promises of "patched versions"—these are not suggestions, but necessities. I've seen too many people pay a million-dollar price just because they were too lazy to take one extra step. Wallet security has no gray area: either you have full control, or you leave it to professional cold storage solutions. This principle should have been understood ten years ago, yet people are still repeating the same mistakes today.
