Sei's development roadmap has new updates. As parallel EVM technology gradually matures, the chain has made a key decision through the SIP-3 proposal — shifting from the original Cosmos and EVM dual-stack mode to a focus on pure EVM architecture.

This change may seem simple, but it actually reflects the project's reconsideration of its technical direction. The benefits are obvious: a simplified architecture means lower maintenance costs and a clearer development path. At the same time, this also marks an adjustment in Sei's ecosystem positioning — recalibrating its competitive stance in the EVM-compatible chain track.

It sounds like giving up on the Cosmos ecosystem. Can a pure EVM route outperform Arbitrum?

Oh no, another chain upgrade architecture. Is Sei going all in on EVM this time? Honestly, I find this move a bit hard to understand. Can a dual-stack switch to pure EVM really beat other compatible chains? It feels like the competition is already so fierce. But simplifying the architecture definitely makes things easier, reduces maintenance costs, and speeds up development. This logic still makes sense. I'm just worried it might be another "strategic adjustment" excuse, ultimately still about liquidity and ecosystem. Whether it can really take off depends on whether big projects are willing to come. Merely changing the architecture is of little use.

Double stack change to single stack? To put it simply, it's admitting that Cosmos's approach didn't create competitiveness. Now everyone is competing in the EVM ecosystem, so they might as well go all in. Low maintenance costs sound good, but the key question is whether there is enough liquidity support. What does on-chain data say? Is the actual TVL still inflated?

Oops, Sei's move is quite interesting. Switching from dual-stack to pure EVM is like fueling itself with new energy. Simply put, simplifying the architecture means less hassle, and developers will love it. Honestly, this move feels a bit familiar, like readjusting the trajectory. Whether it can break out depends on the upcoming ecosystem development. Switching from dual-stack to single-stack sounds simple, but not many chains can survive in reality. Whether Sei's move is right or not remains to be seen. Lower maintenance costs are good, but whether developers will buy into it is the key. For now, do your own research (DYOR). The EVM-compatible chain race is already crowded. If Sei doesn't have a killer app, this architectural adjustment is at most self-improvement.

Pure EVM still depends on whether the subsequent ecosystem can keep up; otherwise, it's just another "technologically advanced" chain hyping itself up.

Pure EVM now? About time. The dual-stack setup is really too complicated, developers are fed up with the hassle.

Starting to tinker with the architecture again, can it stay stable this time?
