1. Trend Structure • Price just broke out of a prolonged accumulation zone, forming a new uptrend (early uptrend). • Currently, ICP remains above MA(7), MA(25), and MA(99) → the uptrend structure has not been broken. • The appearance of a small red candle after a strong upward candle only reflects a technical pause, not a reversal.
2. Momentum & Capital Flow • Explosive volume at the breakout point indicates active buyers (initiative buyers), not a technical pump. • No signs of distribution: no climax volume, no large-bodied reversal candles.
3. Current Short Position • Shorting at 4.4–4.5 is a strength-based short, contrary to high-probability trading principles. • In this context, the probability of a short squeeze is higher than the probability of a top.
⸻
When does shorting become reasonable?
Shorts are only favorable when at least one of the following conditions occurs: 1. Breakdown of structure • Daily candle closes below 4.0 zone • Price loses MA(25) with increasing selling volume → The short-term uptrend is then invalidated 2. Failed breakout / bull trap • Price retests the 4.8–5.0 zone but cannot hold • Clear reversal candles appear (shooting star / bearish engulfing) • Volume weakens → This is the point where a short with a reasonable risk–reward ratio makes sense
• Do not short because “the price has increased a lot” – that is an emotional mindset. • Only short when the trend permits, not when your feelings permit. • Currently: staying out or waiting for confirmation is the most disciplined choice.
In trading, not entering a position is also a position. {spot}(ICPUSDT)
