The innovation bottleneck has shifted beyond software engineering. We're seeing real breakthroughs now—not just in code, but in protocol design, consensus mechanisms, and ecosystem infrastructure. The constraints used to live in how developers could build. Today? They're elsewhere. Hardware scalability, user adoption friction, and cross-chain interoperability are the actual walls holding us back. That's where the real engineering challenges are brewing in blockchain and Web3.

Hardware and cross-chain are the real bottlenecks; just optimizing code won't help.

Hardware and cross-chain are truly the bottlenecks; code has long ceased to be the limiting factor. The data clearly shows this.

Oh dear, speaking nicely, but isn't it just that the project team can't find new fundraising stories?
Wait, hardware bottlenecks? Cross-chain interoperability? These words were being shouted about last year. Why is it only now that they’re calling it the "real bottleneck"?
Having raised three kids over the years, I've seen too many of these arguments. Every time, they claim to have found a new direction, but it’s always the same old tricks.
The real problem is that there's no money left in the ecosystem. Don’t dress it up so grandly.
Is there room for vulnerability audits in protocol design? As a former white hat hacker, I’m a bit interested.

No one has seriously addressed the hardware bottleneck issue; just shouting slogans won't work... What about the retention rate data?

hypothesis: the bottleneck migration you're describing basically mirrors the classical silk road problem—we've optimized the merchant's toolkit but forgot the actual roads connecting everything need serious infrastructure work. cross-chain paradigm shift hitting different when you realize oracle networks are the real choke point, not the smart contracts anymore ngl
