X Platform API Policy Shift: What It Means for On-Chain Intelligence Apps

Major development in the Web3 space: X has officially reversed its API policies, creating significant ripples across the information finance application ecosystem. According to product leadership announcements from the platform, several key applications built on X's data infrastructure are now facing operational constraints.

The affected projects include Kaito AI, Cookie.fun, Xeet.ai, and GiveRep—platforms that have gained traction by leveraging real-time social signals for market intelligence and on-chain analytics. These applications represented an emerging layer of Web3 tooling designed to extract actionable insights from social data.

This policy reversal raises critical questions for the broader ecosystem. As traditional platforms tighten data access policies, on-chain developers and intelligence platforms must adapt their infrastructure strategies. The move reflects broader tensions between centralized platforms and decentralized applications seeking to operate at the intersection of social and blockchain data.

For crypto traders and analysts, this disruption underscores the importance of building on truly decentralized data sources rather than relying on third-party API dependencies.

X is causing trouble again... Now Web3 tools really have to become self-sufficient. --- Relying on centralized platforms is indeed unreliable; it was about time to all-in on on-chain data. --- Kaito and the others got chilled by this wave, it's quite uncomfortable. --- Want to use X's data to cut the leeks? Dream on, X has been guarding against you all along. --- Speaking of which, this incident once again proves the necessity of decentralization... Although I am still using X. --- It's the same old trick, platforms want to monopolize data, developers can only find ways themselves.

Uh, you're back? X, this move is really brilliant, just choking the neck directly. Kaito and the others are in trouble now. Centralized platforms can turn their backs at will... I’ve been saying we shouldn’t rely too much on APIs. This is the lesson Web3 should learn—own your data. What happened to decentralization? Now we’re still being led around by X. I believe it. Next time there's a "smart application" like this, I’ll just look at on-chain data.

Coming back with this again? X is causing trouble again, trying to choke us. Kaito these tools are really doomed; we should have built our own on-chain data long ago. Relying on centralized platform APIs will eventually fail; hopefully now they've learned their lesson. Want Moonbirds' data? First ask if X will agree. Decentralized data is the right way; everything else is nonsense. Another ecosystem layer ruined by centralization, not surprising. Now it's settled, we have to crawl the data ourselves.

Is this another round? X is starting to block API access, now projects that rely on Twitter data are all doomed. Wait a minute, isn’t this just the daily operation of centralized platforms? It was bound to happen. Projects like Kaito are also quite unfortunate; their data sources are being cut off. Honestly, it’s still necessary to build on-chain data sources ourselves, don’t rely on centralized platforms. Tools that depend on scraping X data are becoming increasingly unsustainable; it’s time to pivot, everyone. X’s recent moves are indeed aggressive, blocking the entire ecosystem. It’s recommended that these apps quickly switch to fully on-chain solutions, or it will only get worse later. So, trusting on-chain data is still the right approach.

X is getting stuck again, this time even Kaito couldn't escape It's about time to build your own chain data, always relying on centralized platforms' leftovers Another wave of projects are forced to migrate, this is Web3's current state Wait, isn't this just patching things up? The core problem hasn't been solved Apps that rely on X for their livelihood should wake up already
