The quantum invasion truly makes it feel safer to go back on the chain; that sidechain setup should have been phased out long ago.

Quantum computing is coming, and Bitcoin indeed needs an upgrade, but the key is to allow users to always return to the main chain, which is true security. I find the idea of BitVM2 interesting; directly arbitration and settlement on Bitcoin, with a completely different risk model. The sidechain approach still feels a bit uncertain.
