Paradex causes liquidation due to database maintenance issues, refunds $650,000 to 200 users

Paradex issued a report on the maintenance vulnerability on January 19, which triggered a liquidation event, announcing that it will refund $650,000 to the affected 200 users. Paradex originally planned a 30-minute database upgrade maintenance, but during the upgrade process, a race condition occurred during service restart, causing corrupted data during critical data operations to be persisted to the cloud and published to the Paradex Chain. As a result, the funds index of some markets was reset to 0, leading to abnormal profit and loss and triggering liquidations across multiple markets. Paradex then temporarily shut down platform access, canceled all open orders except take-profit and stop-loss orders, and rolled back the blockchain to a snapshot state before the maintenance window began. #GateDEX
