I just rewatched some really great finance movies and want to share them with everyone. First is The Big Short (2015), which tells the story of a group of smart investors betting against the U.S. housing market before it collapsed. It’s really engaging and easy to understand.

There’s also Inside Job (2010) if you want to better understand the origins of the 2008 crisis. This film analyzes the underlying causes in great detail. Additionally, The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) is a classic finance movie, depicting the life of a stockbroker living extravagantly before everything falls apart due to illegal activities.

If you’re interested in movies based on real events, you can’t miss Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room (2005), which covers the misconduct and corruption of the Enron corporation. Wall Street (1987) is a bit older but still very good, about a young broker hungry for power. Lastly, Too Big to Fail (2011) depicts the difficult days of the 2008 crisis from the perspective of Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson.
