Abstract generation in progress

According to a report by Cointelegraph on April 10, the CEO of the Crypto Assets project SafeMoon, Braden John Karony, is citing the recent changes in the U.S. Department of Justice’s encryption enforcement policy to seek dismissal of the lawsuit against him.

In an April 9 letter to a judge in federal court in New York, Karony’s lawyers mentioned that U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche issued a memo on April 7 dismantling the DOJ’s crypto unit and said the DOJ “no longer takes regulatory framework-style litigation or enforcement actions against digital assets.”

Previously, the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission filed charges against Karony and other SafeMoon executives in November 2023 for securities violations, telecommunications fraud, and money laundering, accusing them of misappropriating investor funds and extracting $200 million worth of assets from the project.
