Ethereum researchers propose a Decentralization solution to address the MEV issue

Odaily Planet Daily News ETH researchers Malik672 proposed a Decentralization random Block proposal solution, aiming to eliminate MEV and solve centralization issues. Currently, about 80% of Blocks in Ethereum are proposed by only two entities, which contradicts the spirit of Decentralization. Malik672’s proposal suggests that all Ethereum clients (rather than a few builders) use a random algorithm to construct Blocks, thereby preventing profit-driven transaction manipulation. The main advantages of this solution include: completely eliminating MEV at the Block level; decentralizing the power of Block construction from a few entities to all clients; possibly reducing Block time from 12 seconds to 6-8 seconds; supporting Ethereum’s future Danksharding expansion plan. Compared to the current Proposer-Builder Separation (PBS) mechanism, the new system performs better in terms of Decentralization and eliminating MEV, but slightly lacks in L2 efficiency optimization. For Ethereum, which values fairness, this solution is of significant value.
