Report: Hong Kong's Blockchain Industry Soars 250% Since 2022

PANews reported on March 14 that, according to Cryptonews, according to a recent report released by InvestHK and its partner agencies, Hong Kong's blockchain application and software industry has grown by 250% since 2022. This surge underscores Hong Kong's growing position as a hub for fintech and digital asset development in Asia. The report analysed 1,100 fintech companies operating in Hong Kong in July 2024 and showed significant growth across all fintech subsectors. Currently, there are a total of 175 blockchain companies in Hong Kong, and the industry has seen significant growth, especially for application/software companies, which have grown by 250% in the last two years. The digital asset and cryptocurrency sectors also rose by almost 30%. According to the report, Hong Kong currently has the largest number of fintech companies in the areas of wealthtech, blockchain, digital assets and cryptocurrencies, payments and remittances, and other fintech corporate solutions.
