An annualized return of 32.1% sounds very attractive, but there are pitfalls hidden in the details.
The high yields of the Huma Prime pool come from a combination of OG and Vanguard status boosts and a 6-month lock-up. It sounds great, but the problem lies in the reward composition. Of this 32.1% annualized return, 15.1% directly comes from $HUMA token rewards, valued based on the average price over the past seven days (currently stuck at $0.02897).
From another perspective, the yield that retail investors can lock in is actually only 17%, which is completely fixed and does not fluctuate. What about the rest? As the market changes, once the $HUMA price fluctuates, the actual value of that portion of rewards begins to depreciate. The scary part is right here—what appears to be a stable high yield is actually tethered to the token price.
This is why even with high mining returns, you need to keep your eyes open. How much of the reward is actual cash flow, and how much is just air? You need to have a clear understanding.
