ChainCatcher News, according to market sources, the São Paulo State Police in Brazil successfully arrested 8 suspects involved in Bitcoin robbery during a large-scale operation codenamed “Cryptonita Operation,” with 1 suspect still at large. According to investigations, the victims revealed to a worker during office renovations that they had invested in Bitcoin, and were subsequently robbed at gunpoint by an armed gang in November 2024. The criminal gang, within about an hour, forced the victims to transfer approximately $54,000 worth of Bitcoin and stole trucks, mobile phones, and laptops valued at $36,200. By tracking digital transactions, the police discovered that the suspects had created shell companies for money laundering.
