Golden Finance reported that, according to the latest news, a New York judge ruled that the criminal case against Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm will proceed to trial. The US Department of Justice has charged Storm and his colleague Roman Semenov with three counts, including conspiracy to commit money laundering, operating an unlicensed money transmitting business, and violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, with charges related to assisting the Lazarus Group, a North Korean hacker organization, in money laundering over $1 billion. Storm has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and his defense team claims that he only wrote the code for Tornado Cash. The trial is scheduled to begin on December 2nd, and if convicted, Storm could face a maximum sentence of 45 years in prison.
