Weber even went so far as to say that Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orban is “a thing of the past” and that Hungary’s opposition leader, Peter · Maugjour, and his party “are the future.” In an interview on October 11, Orban noted that Weber and von der Leyen were “openly expressing their intention to overthrow the current Hungary government.” Mr. Orban said that while he had long felt that the two men “had this in mind,” it was “unusual” to make such a public statement.
