really need to check my emails more frequently instead of once a month lol.
catching taxes due in a few days out of luck not a good thing.
when I have an interesting project on my hands I really can't find the interest to do anything else.

here's some alpha from a Portuguese guy.
they're selling dollars for 59 cents on polymarket.
not financial advice.

my main goal for 2026 is to continue to branch out into new edges, and question my accepted ideology that I can only compete in the risk premia arena and spend months on end on drawdowns.
that might be true, but I gotta see it for myself.
I also think I've always framed the question in the wrong way and its more of a spectrum rather than a binary answer.
how much more sharpe can I generate, on top of what I currently already do?
I've seem a glimpse of it this year already and I am spending all of my time designing my entire infrastructure to make it feasible.
even if I dont make it work, I now

tip:
when saving ideas for research from the internets, spend the extra few mins copying the text, taking a screenshot, downloading the document, and store it in a database that you own.
don't just store the link.
often I go back to bookmarked tweets or links I saved, and I find them broken because the author deleted them, or doesn't exist anymore or simply disappears from bookmarks.
better to make it permanent than to lose valuable stuff.

so I've been re-structuring my entire portfolio management infra to be scalable and more modular to sustain different model types, order types (execution engine), exchanges, etc
the problem, was that this added complexity generated a lot of new errors that usually happened overnight when it ran.
what I'm doing to mitigate that is creating a comprehensive log report db that tells me exactly what has been done at each run.
at least all the sensible stuff that matters.
and try to bring the success rate over the next months as close to 100% as possible so I don't have to wake up every night to new

I get this vibe of weakness when someone who is deemed "controversial" is interviewed, and the interviewer uses a shopping list long disclaimer hedging themselves against criticism.
just do it and stop being such a wuss.
it feels so disingenuous, you're clearly interested in the person, you probably admire them, why do you care what the opinion of others are?
what kind of weird way you live that you have to constantly say stuff like "oh you may or may not agree, please please just don't come at us".

an hybrid trade execution solution is really effective when deploying new models and I experienced that first hand.
also you can build one in a few hours (less with experience), and start harvesting right away whatever edge you think you have.
I am executing cross exchanges, different models, different markets, etc, and each have their own idiosyncrancies that I am only discovering when I've traded there for some time.
a simple mechanism:
button to push exposures > execution algo > exchange
at the end I can check if everything is executed accordingly.
sure I could automate that. and eventually

I can't prove when my LLM of choice decays in performance, but I can feel it in me bones, since I interact with it more than humans at this point lol.
claude code changed, I am fighting with it way more often than a week ago.
can the devs do something @claudeai

the problem of being an average height guy is having clothes my size sold out during sales.
can't take the tails either because then it looks funny.
but maybe buying the tails is where it's at and just having the nerve to look funny for that discount.

most frustrating thing is being so focused on a task, coding in most cases, and having to interrupt it because of a call/meeting.
all my days are blocked from 6am-12pm/2pm , for coding alone.
it really kills the flow that is so hard to find sometimes.

7h coding saturday, purely fixing bugs due to a change I pushed to prod yesterday.
0 pnl generating tasks.
am I now a backoffice trader too?
still have probably 2 more hours to go though.
good thing is, gonna be farming hip-3 markets by tomorrow/monday.

I don't like when projects talk too much about their points program.
almost like begging for attention because you can't capture it elsewhere (value proposition).
could be wrong, but feels off to me.
