#空投活动 Seeing Lighter's move makes me feel a familiar sense of déjà vu. I've witnessed too many airdrop projects over the years, and my early naivety has gradually been educated by reality—once a points mechanism goes live, Sybil addresses and wash trading follow like shadows.

I still remember the 2017 ICO wave when many projects' airdrop rules were merely formalities, and in the end, wool pullers walked away with the lion's share while genuine community builders became mere background players. Uniswap's later airdrop also experienced similar turbulence. While it didn't have explicit anti-cheating mechanisms, it did serve as a wake-up call for successors.

What Lighter is doing now is, in a sense, correcting historical mistakes. Starting data cleanup only in the final stage of Season 2 seems somewhat delayed, but at least the stance is clear—the reduced points are redistributed to the community rather than being appropriated by the project team. This level of transparency was unimaginable in earlier years.

That said, it also reflects a reality: no matter how carefully designed, it's impossible to completely eliminate cheating. Rather than remedying problems after the fact, it's better to establish stricter protection mechanisms from the start. Based on failure cases, wash trading prevention must be embedded in early rules rather than firefighting after issues explode. Lighter's correction direction is right, but the cost is that future participants must remain more vigilant against such pitfalls.
