Ethereum core contributor Vitalik Buterin recently shared his ongoing support for privacy technology development. He stated that he has long supported the development teams and related work dedicated to privacy research.

Vitalik emphasized a core point: privacy protection is not a luxury but a necessary safeguard for individuals in both the digital world and real life. Whether it is preventing social risks, business risks, or personal safety risks, privacy constitutes an indispensable security mechanism. This view reflects Web3 pioneers' deep consideration of personal data sovereignty and security — under the decentralized philosophy, privacy rights should become a fundamental protection for every participant.

Privacy is indeed both overestimated and underestimated... Overestimating its necessity, underestimating its cost. Vitalik is right, but I've heard that many times in the crypto circle, and few have actually implemented it.

V God's words are spot on; privacy is a right, not something only needed for shameful matters. --- Talking about the importance of privacy again, but there are already many projects with full on-chain data transparency. Why aren't people using them? --- This is what Web3 should look like—no more asset nakedness. --- Privacy protection is a real big topic. Vitalik has been paying attention for so long, but it still hasn't been fully solved. --- It sounds good, but most users still can't rest assured. What about the practical application of privacy technology? --- Agreed, the sovereignty over personal data is currently being heavily suppressed. --- Privacy ≠ illegal. When will this concept be understood by regulators? --- If Web3 can't even protect privacy, what's the difference from today's internet?

Based on historical data analysis of on-chain privacy protocols, the transaction volume using zero-knowledge proofs has increased by 267% over the past 18 months, but the actual proportion used for privacy protection still accounts for less than 3.2% of total transactions—there is a significant gap in awareness. This time, V God’s statement mainly serves to endorse the privacy track. It is worth noting that most of the so-called privacy solutions in the market are actually pseudo-privacy, viewed from three dimensions: first, the imperfection of technical implementation; second, backdoor risks in protocol design; third, compromises under regulatory pressure. We can dig into the specific data on the on-chain privacy transaction shrinkage after Tornado Cash was banned.

V哥 is talking about privacy again, truly, in our crypto circle, we must have this awareness. The statement that privacy is not a luxury is spot on, really. Vitalik is forever a god... If privacy isn't done well, decentralization is just a decoration. Now it's finally out in the open, top developers are saying that privacy is the infrastructure. Thinking back to those big accounts that were doxxed before, privacy really saves lives. Talking about privacy every day, when will it finally be implemented? Agreed, privacy rights should be treated the same as property rights.
